WHITE SANDS NATIONAL PARK
Alamogordo, New Mexico | June 9 - 13, 2023
$1500
Two incredible national parks & one stunning state park . . .
SOFT SUBTLE WHITE HILLS OF
DRAMATIC BEAUTY
Deep in the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders the glistening white sands
of New Mexico.

The sands of White Sands National Park are rarely white. The dunes quite often reflect the color of the sky overhead. A lovely salmon color at sunrise and a sweet violet and blue at the end of the day. They are a stunning white in full sun. Very fine sand that often blows in the breeze creating riffs of sand from
the peak of a dune. Very similar to spindrift
often seen on mountain peaks when the
wind blows snow off the peak.
Our treat is that we get to experience these many faces and capture them with our artistic eye. We will also visit Organ Mountains just to the south. This is a unique mountain range as we are able to photograph both sides of the range. Sunrise and sunset, get it? Good!
Many other dessert scenes, textures and patterns wait
for us to capture and create some unique
fine art images.
This is such a different and unique experience,
please join us!
WHAT TO EXPECT
We’ll experience amazing salmon sunrises and glorious magenta sunsets. The San Andreas Mountains to the west provide for an alluring backdrop for these amazingly white and very bright sand dunes! Bring sunglasses!! This environment offers drastic lighting and color hues that will astonish you. Be prepared to be in awe. This is a good opportunity to practice your black and white photography skills.

One evening we will stay for the Milky Way and create some awesome imagery with the white sand dunes and stars above. WoooHooo!!

are advised. Having layers of clothing is great
as you can take off and put them back
on as the temperature changes. Having rain

Rain gear for your equipment, too!
WHAT TO BRING
IN THE CLASSROOM
This is a hands-on opportunity so bring your computer! I have discovered that offering critique sessions during a Road Trip greatly increases your growth. Being able to shoot, critique, adjust and understand during a workshop is a very
efficient and rewarding way to learn.
ZOOM
I will offer a Zoom session a couple of weeks following the Road Trip. This is an ideal situation because we are all comfortable at home with our familiar computer setups. We will take a look at
your imagery and I can offer critiques and
other helpful and positive feedback. Then I will
offer my step-by-step process of how I
interpret and enhance my imagery.
YOUR INVESTMENT
For your investment you will have the opportunity
to photograph some of the most incredible landscapes in the national and state
parks system. There are a lot of
unique views and landscapes
to photograph in the parks
we will be visiting in Utah.
