GREAT SAND DUNES

Alamosa, Colorado   |   June 10 - 14

$1500

Two incredible national parks & one stunning state park . . .

COLORADO'S FAMOUS SANDBOX

This is one of my favorite places to hang out.

If you don't come along . . . I am still going!!!

We'll photograph a couple of sunrises and a couple of sunsets, depending on the weather, and a lot
of big
piles of sand in between!!

The Sand Dunes are nestled at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range where five of Colorado's Fourteeners reside. This valley offers many beautiful landscape photography opportunities and all of these views look so different at any given time of the day. Whether it is sunset or sunrise, or even the middle of the day . . . you get the idea.

You can't get a bad shot out here!

We will also do some image critiques along the way so you can gauge how well you are learning
and improving your style.

The views are amazing and priceless to photograph. Did you know that Star Dune is the highest sand dune in North America. It's over 600 feet high! You
can climb to the top if you are so inclined!

It's quite the view . . .

and a heck of a workout climbing up.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will be staying at the Best Western Alamosa Inn, registration info below, for this epic Road Trip. The drive from the hotel to the sand dunes is about 45 minutes. Early mornings for sunrises but
well worth it.

There are some added bonus stops we make for some very interesting and unique images. There is a great little house all alone on the plains, old train cars and engines in town, the oldest church in Colorado
is not too far away either. We will check out Zapata Falls
near the dunes as well.

And of course the food will be epic as you've come to expect on a Soul Road Trip. The cinnamon rolls at the Campus Cafe alone are worth your time to come along on this trip!

The light on the dunes is ever-changing. Sunrise and sunset we look for the grand scenic photograph. As the sun gets higher in the sky we look closer at the intimate landscapes such as ripples in the sand, interesting rocks and plant life tell amazing intimate stories. Textures and wind patterns are also a favorite subject matter to photograph.

Hills, lines ,slopes, and patterns as well as  color or black & white  give us a large opportunity to create unique fie art imagery from thee breathtaking hills of sand.

We will gather in the hotel's breakfast room for a session on how to edit and enhance this kind of subject. I will help you realize how to create fine art from your vision. Wanna hang something on the wall when you get home right? Let me help!

Having layers of clothing is great as you can

take off and put them back on as the

rain gear available is not a bad idea either.

Rain gear for your equipment, too!

WHAT TO BRING

This is a hands-on opportunity so bring your computer! I have discovered that offering critique sessions during a Road Trip greatly increases your growth. Being able to shoot, critique, adjust and understand during a workshop is a very efficient and

rewarding way to learn.

IN THE CLASSROOM

ZOOM

I will offer a Zoom session a couple of weeks following the Road Trip. This is an ideal situation because we are all comfortable at home with our familiar computer setups. We will take a look at your imagery and I can offer critiques and other helpful and positive feedback. Then I will offer my
step-by-step process of how
I interpret
and enhance my imagery.

YOUR INVESTMENT

For your investment you will have the opportunity to photograph some of the most incredible landscapes in the national and state parks system. There are a

lot of unique views and landscapes to

photograph in the parks we

will be visiting in Utah.
