What if color is sometimes the distraction?
For many photographers, black and white photography isn't about removing color—it's about discovering what remains when color no longer does the heavy lifting.
When I convert an image to black and white, I begin to see differently. Light becomes more important. Shadows become more expressive. Texture, shape, contrast, and emotion step forward and take center stage. The photograph becomes less about what something looked like and more about how it felt.
