December 4 - 11, 2020

After exploring Havana and the tobacco regions of Vinales, we felt it was time to check out another location in Cuba. Santiago de Cuba,  Fidel Castro's final resting place and the mountainous region of southern Cuba seemed like an exciting place to visit and photograph. It sits at the southern most portion of the island and offers a harbor in the waters of the luscious Caribbean Sea.

The architecture is colonial and completely different from Havana. However, the friendly hospitality of the local people is a prominent and inviting as we've ever seen. Join us for another adventure in the friendly confines of Cuba. We've had such fun and experiences in Havana and Vinales, we expect nothing less. You must come along and experience this for yourself.

Friday, December 4 -
Arrive in Hoguin, Cuba. We will be traveling together as a group (if possible) into and out of Cuba. These are US State Department regulations. We will take a taxi/bus from Holguin to Santiago de Cuba.

Saturday, December 5 - 10
For the next few days we will head out on the streets and explore various burroughs of the port city of Santiago. Of the various sites to see we will check out the Vista Alegra, which is the revolutionary square. Also the port castle and lighthouse are a must to see, called Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca.

Friday, December 11 -
Just as quickly, unfortunately, its time to return home. We will take a taxi/bus back to Holguin to fly out of Cuba as a group.

Schedule subject to change if I can make it better!

Lodging . . .

We will be staying in homes of friends in Santiago de Cuba. Details will be made available to you as we prepare for the trip.

What you will need to bring . . .

It's warm and humid! T-shirts, shorts and great walking shoes. We WILL be doing a lot of walking. We have been averaging around 4-5 miles a day. NO sandals for walking during the day because the streets and sidewalks are quite broken up and rough. Sandals for relaxing in the evenings are a good idea though. Definitely bring sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, sun hat. Bottled water is readily available so no worries there! I recommend traveling light. I will provide an extensive list of what to bring and other things to know after you register.

Your Investment . . . All Inclusive

  • Transportation while in Cuba including to/from the airport

Your additional costs:

  • Meals and snacks, water, soda, etc.

Deposits & Payments . . .
Your initial deposit is fully refundable within 72 hours of making the deposit. After 72 hours, your deposit becomes non-refundable. The balance of the workshop is due 30 days before the first day of the workshop. If your initial deposit is made inside of 30 days from the first day of the workshop, full payment may be required in lieu of the usual deposit. A payment schedule may be arranged if this makes attending a Soul Road Trip more possible for you. Contact me directly for an installment payment opportunity. EMAIL

Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers . . .
Sometimes you need to cancel a trip. Plans and desires change and we understand that. We also hope that you understand certain arrangements, reservations and plans must be made weeks if not months out from a workshop. Deposits are used to make these arrangements to make your experience a pleasant one. Of course, we wish you to come again and again and to tell your friends about your wonderful experience.

However, if you must cancel, please be aware of these policies. After the initial 72 hours after making a deposit, that deposit is non-refundable.

If you cancel after 72 hours and 30 days before the first day of the workshop, any additional monies are refundable less a 15% administration fee.

If you must cancel within 30 days before the first day of the workshop, all funds are non-refundable so we recommend travel insurance. Check out or for trip insurance opportunities.

Workshop registrations are usually NOT transferable. We will take each situation on a case-by-case basis. If Soul Road Trips needs to cancel a workshop, we will let you know as soon as possible and at least 14 days prior to the first day of the scheduled workshop, and immediately

refund your full tuition. However, we will not be responsible for non-refundable airline tickets or lodging reservations. Please do not purchase airline tickets or make non-refundable deposits on lodging that cannot be canceled before the trip.
