NOVEMBER 12 - 16, 2021

Two incredible National Parks . . .

Moab is such an amazing place to spend time at and photograph. Canyonlands, Arches, Dead Horse Point, and Castle Valley are located just outside of Moab, UT and are so incredibly diverse in their landscape . . . and from each other . . . it is mind-blowing. The overlooks, rock formations and colors are simply astonishing! And what sweet light before sunrise and after sunset does to these structures and views is just breathtaking.

We're going to cover a lot of ground as we will be going to both the Needles District and The Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands. Dead Horse Point State Park offers us stellar overlooks and Arches is like an alien landscape with scenery that will stick in your memory forever.

Come experience and photograph these stunning locations and I will share with you how I create my style of fine art images.

Sunrise at the South Window

We will be visiting both regions of Canyonlands National Park. There is the Island in the Sky and The Needles District. Both very diverse in landscape and rock formations. We will also photograph Dead Horse State Park, Arches National Park and Castle Valley where over 150 movies have been shot. Classic southwest scenery yet breathtaking and stunning. Time of the day changes the light and hence the color of the rocks. It's pretty amazing and has to be seen to be believed. Come on with us so you can check this one off your bucket list!

In the Field -

Camera, tripod, filters, lenses, shutter release cord, Hoodman and whatever other gear makes you happy. Sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray and a hat are advised. Having layers of clothing is great as you can take off and put them back on as the temperature changes. Having rain gear available is not a bad idea either. And rain gear for your equipment, too! More detailed info about gear after you register.

In the Classroom -

This is a hands-on opportunity so bring your computer!

I have discovered that offering critique sessions during a Road Trip greatly increases your growth. Being able to shoot, critique, adjust and understand during a workshop is a very efficient and rewarding way to learn.

I'll share with you how I edit and prepare my images in Lightroom and Photoshop. I also use the NIK Software suite. Have these all loaded and running on your computer before the class, please!

Your Investment -
For your investment you will have the opportunity to photograph some of the most incredible landscapes in the national park system. There are a lot of eclectic items to photograph in the parks we will be visiting in Utah.
