Itinerary -

Friday August 16th -

Arrive in Anchorage and we'll pick you up at the Ted Stevens International Airport. At 6p we'll gather in my suite for dinner and a short program where I will show you some images of places we will be going. We'll talk about the plans for the trip and just get acquainted. Lodging in Anchorage.

Saturday August 17th -

7a - Meet in the lobby of our host hotel and we'll head for breakfast. We'll then hit the road southbound to visit The Alaska Wildlife Refuge, The Portage Glacier and end up in Seward. Lodging for the next three nights will be in Seward.

Sunday August 18th -

5a - It's an early morning as we will want to capture a sunrise in this amazing location. Seward is surrounded by mountains on three sides and Resurrection Bay on the south.  We can visit the Alaska SeaLife Center in town if you so desire. I recommend it!

There is an old shipyard on the east side of the bay for you eclectic shooters, too. Exit Glacier is not far away either. Worth a short trip there as well.

Monday August 19th -

7a - Breakfast and then a cruise on Resurrection Bay where we will see whales, dolphins, puffins and other marine life. Glaciers are also on this trip so be amazed. It's a full day of fun and photography.

Tuesday August 20th -

7a - Breakfast and then a drive west to Homer and the Spit. The Homer Spit is a 5 mile long stretch of land that is . . . stunning! You really have to see this spot for yourself. We will stay in Homer for four nights at The Land's End at the very end of the spit. Lot's to see and photograph!

Wednesday August 21st -

8a -Breakfast and off to see the bears. Today we will board some sea planes and fly across the Cook Inlet to the Mt. Redoubt Resort. We then jump on our own pontoon boat piloted by Capt' Mike as he cruises the shores of the lake in search of bears! Oh and we will see bears!! The beauty of a pontoon boat is that we are eye-level with the bears. We can get close and remain safe. The bears are busy getting fat for hibernation so they really don't even know we are there!

Thursday August 22nd -

8a - Breakfast and another trip to photograph bears. This time we fly to Lake Clark for a short hike to a waterfall area. We will watch many bears catch salmon in a waterfall and probably see some fights too. We will be on a viewing platform safely away from harm.

Friday August 23rd -

Today we can have a leisurely day and visit and photograph the local sights and sounds of Homer and the spit. There is the Alaska Islands Ocean Center, the beaches, marina and a lot more.

Saturday August 24th -

We head back to Anchorage. It'll be a leisurely drive as there are a lot of beautiful landscapes to photograph . . . an old Russian church and cemetery, Cooper Landing, mountains, trees and hopefully moose and other wildlife along the way. We will lodge in Anchorage tonight.

Sunday August 25th -

So sorry but the trip is over. Make your return home flight plans for today. We will gladly drop you off at the airport.

Schedule subject to change . . .
if I can make it better!
