ABANDONED HUDSON VALLEY

Upstate New York  |  October 13 - 17

$1500

Two incredible national parks & one stunning state park . . .

DO YOU LOVE ABANDONED BUILDINGS?
I SURE DO!

This is that dream trip you've been drooling over for quite a while now. It's your time to go! Let's do this!

Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts. Go ahead and tell me you're not interested in this Road Trip. First of all, you've got tons of historical locations and sights to see. Then the landscape of rolling hills, mountains and river
valleys to experience. Cities and towns of
such history to witness.
Oh ya . . . those colorful fall colors. OMG!

These highways that hug the forests of the New England states are roads that you'll drive for a mile and stop to photograph a church, schoolhouse, stable, cemetery or those beautiful and colorful fall trees you've heard about. So, you get out of the car and shoot . . . get back in the car and drive another mile because there will be another church, or schoolhouse or amazing landscape that is just screaming for YOU to stop and photograph.
I'm so serious!

This is one of those lazy and crazy Road Trips with mile after mile of beauty, splendor and history, all we need to do is pay attention. There is SO MUCH that requires our photographic attention . . . oh my!

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is such a fun and rewarding location to photograph in. Almost every direction has a gorgeous scene. Around every corner is an old building, cemetery or more brilliant landscape than the last one we oooggled over!

This Road Trip is about creating fine art images. I mean the ones beyond the obvious that we see a lot of.

This is a true road trip as we will be starting in Albany, NY then head north to Burlington, VT. A right turn on Hwy 2 and we'll enjoy the countryside of Vermont and New Hampshire as we head towards Maine and Acadia National Park. We then head south to Portland & Portsmouth, ME on our way back to Albany to complete this whirlwind of colors,  history and photography.

LODGING

Camera, tripod, filters, lenses, shutter release, Hoodman loupe and whatever other gear makes you happy. Also bring your laptop with Photoshop and Lightroom already installed and working. Sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray and a hat are advised. Having layers of clothing is great as you can take off and put them back on as the temperature changes. Having rain gear available is not a bad idea either.

Rain gear for your equipment, too!

WHAT TO BRING

IN THE CLASSROOM

This is a hands-on opportunity so bring your computer! I have discovered that offering critique sessions during a Road Trip greatly increases your growth. Being able to shoot, critique, adjust and understand during a workshop is a very
efficient and
rewarding way to learn.

ZOOM

I will offer a Zoom session a couple of weeks following the Road Trip. This is an ideal situation because we are all comfortable at home with our familiar computer setups. We will take a look at
your imagery and I can offer critiques and other helpful and positive feedback. Then I will
offer my step-by-step process of how
I
interpret and enhance my imagery.

YOUR INVESTMENT

For your investment you will have the opportunity to photograph some extremely unique and deteriorated buildings and cityscapes. This is a great opportunity to push and expand your artistic abilities.
