2019 SOUL ROAD TRIPS
THE VEGAS JUNKET
February 22 - 25, 2019
Oh boy, is this a fun one. We'll take a quick weekend trip to Vegas to photograph Red Rock Canyon, Nelson; the ghost-town, The Valley of Fire, and even spend an evening on Fremont street in old downtown Las Vegas. The lights and the people are awesome to watch and photograph.
The Grand Tetons are such an amazing sight the first time you see them. They are amazing every time you see them. The weather changes so often the look of the peaks changes their demeanor and appeal. Whether it's sunrise or sunset, you won't be disappointed. We will view and photograph from several vantage points including Schwabacher's Landing, Elk Ranch Flats, Mt Moran at Oxbow Bend and reflections of the northern Tetons in Jackson Lake.
Moab is such an amazing place to spend time at and photograph. Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point, Castle Valley and Arches are located just outside of Moab, UT and are so incredibly diverse in their landscape . . . and from each other . . . it is mind-blowing. The overlooks, rock formations and colors are simply astonishing! And what sweet light before sunrise and after sunset do to these structures and views is just breathtaking.
Join us for a life-altering experience as we walk the streets of Havana where the people and buildings are spectacular. We'll explore the village of Vinales and the valley where tobacco is grown. There are so many photographic opportunities everywhere you look. THIS is that once-in-a -lifetime trip! I promise you won't want to go home. Did I mention the food? Oh my . . . the food is also incredible!
This is one of my favorite places to hang out. We'll shoot a couple of sunrises and a couple of sunsets, depending on the weather, and a lot of big piles of sand in between!! We'll also spend a late night shooting the stars if you wish to do that. The Sand Dunes are nestled at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range where 5 of Colorado's Fourteeners reside. The views are amazing and priceless to photograph. Did you know that Star Dune is the highest sand dune in North America. It's over 600 feet high! You can climb to the top if you are so inclined! It's quite the view . . . and a heck of a workout climbing up.
As the Crown of the Continent, Glacier is the headwaters for streams that flow to the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and to Hudson's Bay. The extremes of mountain peaks to lake shores and the color in between is glorious and peaceful. This is such an incredible opportunity to create fall color photographs we encourage you to consider spending your fall photography adventure in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Join us for a life-altering experience as we walk the streets of Havana and explore the village of Vinales, Cuba. There are photographic opportunities everywhere you look. THIS is that once-in-a -lifetime trip!
This is a photographer's dream. It's even overwhelming as you walk in. These cars have been sitting in the woods for over 80 years! Join me as I lead you down these amazing trails of nostalgia, rust and decay. You can't help but wonder about their heritage, their owners and the sights these old characters experienced in their active and productive lives.
We'll spend hours in the field with endless flowers and scenery you'll not want to leave. I will also offer image critiques during the afternoons on Saturday and Sunday. These image critique opportunities coupled with hands-on experience will almost guarantee you beautiful results and help you to become an amazing fine art photographer..
We're going up to Yankee Boy Basin where at above treetop the skies are sapphire blue and the wildflowers a prolific. The waterfalls are alluring and beautiful. Butterflies and dragonflies everywhere. Bring your wide lens and your macro as we'll put them to good use!
The southwest corner of Colorado is an incredible place to be in autumn. The Aspen groves change at different times during the "Leaf Season". Some groves are green, some yellow and then those that are already orange through red-brown. The scrub oak in it's classic rich burgundy color are in contrast to the evergreen trees. It's a place of beauty and peace. To spend time here is wonderful for your soul.
